Patrick Henry

"Mr. President, it is natural to man to indulge in the illusions of hope. We are apt to shut our eyes against a painful truth, and listen to the song of that siren till she transforms us into beasts. Is this the part of wise men, engaged in a great and arduous struggle for liberty? Are we disposed to be of the numbers of those who, having eyes, see not, and, having ears, hear not, the things which so nearly concern their temporal salvation? For my part, whatever anguish of spirit it may cost, I am willing to know the whole truth, to know the worst, and to provide for it."

REFLECTION: I love this passage, this is the best thing i read in this whole project because i love the love the way Henry told basically the truth of everything. His emotion was very strong which causes what he said stay in your head. In the snippet i chose it talks about the president give us this false thoughts of hope and we suppose to not see the truth or hear it. This is very true.

Dear Diary: People we should be treated this way. Like i say "Give me liberty or give me death". We shouldn't stand for this. We shouldn't have to believe the lies the government gives us. We should be able to have an opinion. I used my knowledge to provide the truth to everyone who wants to hear. I believe that as the people of america we should know everything that goes on in the US.
